assignment 1 prototypes

OMG I AM SO HAPPY THAT I FINALLY COMPLETED MY ASSIGNMENT FIRST TIME EVER ON ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR !!! :D
okay first time using the illustrator i felt very lost because there were just too many functions for me to explore ! I learnt how to use the pen tool in Helen's workshop but went on to try our the brush tool ! so yepp! here's my try on the brush tool :)

I am Karen and I love the BEACH !!! :D


 okay i have to say i spent the WHOLE afternoon doing this. end result is not really fantastic but i must say, I'm satisfied already. and i realised, when i used the brush tool, if i want to colour the object which i traced, it is very difficult. It's pretty obvious from the "n" which is the crab. (It's shell is not a full solid red) But oh wells, I guess it turns out pretty fine still, I hope? :)


My second design is the completed using the pen tool. The colours are more solid and they are not in patches. Here it is :)

I am Karen and i love DINOSAURS! :D

I had fun adding in the symbols (e.g trees, flowers, rocks) ! I hope the overall effect is satisfactory? :D

assignment 1 roughs

Wow this is my first time blogging actually so I'm abit excited?? Hahaha okay sounds really noob but nevermind! Let's go on to see the roughs okay? :)))

So, this is my first rough.

Haha can you guess my name from here?

well, okay it's pretty obvious as you can already see my name on the right hand side of this blog. but yepp, my name is Karen and i love dinosaurs. The reason is because I fell in love with the cartoon "The Land Before Time" immediately after I watched it when I was still a little girl. Anyone should go catch it seriously, it's sure to make you tear. :'(

But anyway, I didnt really like this rough because its mostly skeleton of the dinosaurs (except the "r") and it looks rather dull, so unlike the colourful dinosaurs which appeared in The Land Before Time. So I came up with a second one!

Much more colourful right!! But I still need to edit the letter "E" since it's capital.

My next 2 roughs looks like this :)

YES I LIKE THE BEACH TOO! :)  (Because you get to see so much things at the beach! )

Personally, I prefer the second rough becuase it looks like a "Karen" more to me. (Again I have to do something to the capital A)
